Mandy's flat is much nicer than most would expect from a girl out on her own. Her grandmother, Lucy Twyla Baxendale, makes payments on the place so her granddaughter doesn't live in squalor.
The flat is lovely, a bit larger than she really needs but it proves comfortable. It has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a large kitchen attached to a very open living room and a balcony that overlooks the river.
She loves to have people visit and would like to have more parties in her flat. Many others in the building often wonder how she can afford such a place, since most are married couple with their shared incomes, or older people living off pensions.
